This month we had the opportunity to work with the Mid-Atlantic Make-A-Wish Foundation at their Evening of Wishes Gala at the ROnald Reagan Convention Center in Washington, DC. We've done a few events with them in the past, but I must say we have never been in a venue such as that!
The weather was gorgeous for the event. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and tourists lines the streets for as far as the eye can see. There had to have been folks from every continent out there in the warm spring afternoon.
The venue was daunting! Even with the map of the facility, I had only the foggiest notion of where to go. I guess atrium, correctly. I took the elevator to the mezzanine and looked down at the grandest view. The Make-A-Wish crowd and the staff of the RR Building had really outdont themselves this time.
When the crowd finally hit the booth, they were in great spirits! The line did not stop. I was glad to have had assistance with crowd management. I was even more glad to see the faces of the children who had been granted wishes.
They made the entire event even more special.
Tomorrow, we will be doing an event to raise funds for the Special Olympics. There will be unicorns!
